You must carefully read the terms and condition before signing, If you are really serious about your business you must not skip this part. You need to know your rights as an affiliate and what rights the merchants has.

You should be able to log onto a site and see how many sales you have made and how much money you have earned. Transparency promotes good business.
6) Lead Track Lifetime
Check the length of time that the merchant tracks your cookie. A good merchant pays commissions on every sales made within the cookie time frame. A better merchant pays commissions even if the sale is made from a follow-up.
